Effectively managing your endowment can be a challenge, so United Way Worldwide has developed an Endowment Investment Toolkit to aid Board members, CFOs and their Investment Committees in overseeing and managing their endowment portfolios. CFOs from the network and investment professionals contributed to this initiative. This toolkit showcases best practices across a range of topics – governance, investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio structure, spending policies and other topics related to managing an endowment. Developing a long term sustainable funding source to support our long term community impact work can provide increased financial stability to each United Way and its community. The toolkit can be read in conjunction with the “2014 Report on United Way Endowments” issued earlier this year.
